Productify Groups Privacy Policy
Productify Groups (“the App”) provides product grouping and swatch-based variant linking functionality (“the Service”) to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.
Personal Information the App Collects
When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account:
- Shop Information: Store name, store email, domain, shop owner details, plan, currency, and timezone.
- Products API: Access to product IDs, titles, variants, images, handles, and other product-related metadata to allow grouping functionality.
- Metafields API: Read and write product metafields used to store and sync product group identifiers.
- Storefront API (optional): Enables display of product groups and custom swatch variants on the storefront.
Additionally, we may collect the following types of personal information:
- Merchant Registration Info: Name, email, and store URL for support and identification purposes.
- User Access Data: Information about store users who interact with the App dashboard, such as their name and email.
- Technical Information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, and access timestamps for usage analytics and troubleshooting.
We collect personal information directly from you, via your Shopify account, or through the use of technologies like:

- Log Files – Track usage activity, including IP address, browser version, referral sources, and time spent.
- Tags / Pixels / Web Beacons – Used to measure performance and error tracking within the App.
How Do We Use Your Personal Information?
We use the personal information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Productify Groups service.
- Enable grouping of products and rendering of swatch-based variants on the storefront.
- Store and manage group-related data through metafields.
- Communicate with you regarding support, product updates, or system changes.
- Monitor and analyze usage trends for performance improvements.
We do not use your information for behavioral or targeted advertising.
Sharing Your Personal Information
We may share your personal information with trusted third parties only as necessary to operate and maintain the App. These may include:
- Hosting Providers (e.g., Vercel, AWS, Linode) for secure app hosting and database storage.

Data Retention
We retain your store and group-related data only as long as your store remains connected to the App or as required by law. Upon uninstalling the App, associated product group data stored on our servers will be deleted within 30 days, unless retention is required for legal compliance or support follow-up.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or for legal and regulatory reasons. Updated versions will be posted on our app listing or official website.
